DAY 2 – Healing and health for my people

No one looks forward to being ill. As much as possible we all want to be healthy all the time. Being a care-giver as a family member can be such an emotional journey and a draining one as well. I remember when my family took ill, I kept asking the Lord to keep me strong and healthy to be able to care for them.

As a mom, I don’t sleep well if my child has a simple cold. And I am sure so many of you can relate to this. We don’t want any of our family member to be sick even if it is the common cold. It is also Father’s desire that we be in health at all times. But does that mean that because we are Father’s children, we will never fall sick? No! Since we know what Father’s will is, we are confident that He will always heal us because by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed. So it is done already.

Therefore today, we would be asking Father and receiving from Him, this healing that He has made available to us through Jesus.

Prayers

Psalm 30:2 NLT O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you restored my health.

Whenever _______ and I feel unwell in our bodies or in our minds, I pray that you will always fulfill your promise and make us well again. Amen.

Hosea 6:1 NLT Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds.

Heavenly Father, where the reason for _______ and I being unwell is due to our own doing, Lord have mercy on us. We confess and come before you in repentance. Forgive us and heal us. Bandage our wounds and make _______ and I whole again in Jesus Name. Amen.

Isaiah 38:16 ERV Lord, use this hard time to make my spirit live again. Help my spirit become strong and healthy. Help me become well! Help me live again!

Dear God, for the hard decisions _______ and I have to make regarding our health, I pray that you will give us the strength to make them. Help _______ and I to discipline ourselves, remembering that this that we must do, like a little fast or an exercise is to keep us well in Jesus Name. Amen.

Reflection

What are those meals you should limit in portion? What other things can you do to stay healthy. Also, make sure to bless every food you eat. Yes even those snacks.

See you all tomorrow.

Beautiful Blessings.

DAY 1 – Salvation for my people

How important is the salvation of your family members to you?

The moment I got to know God for myself and was genuinely saved, I found myself praying for my entire family and friends. I wanted my parents to be genuinely saved even though Dad is a pastor, I still prayed for my father to be truly saved and I told God, I wanted to see my father in Heaven. I prayed for my sisters as well as my mum. I prayed for my friends too. To the extent that sometimes I forget to pray for myself.

When I got married, my husband joined the list. When I got pregnant, my unborn babies joined the list. As a wife and mom, I am unconsciously consistently praying that my children, my husband, my extended family and friends know the Lord genuinely, obey Him and give Him complete control of their lives. Also, myself.

I’m sure, some of you are nodding your head as you read this. But let me tell you that even when they come to know the Lord, accept Him into their hearts, we should never stop praying because complete salvation is on the Day Jesus comes to take us to Himself.

For Esther, even though she got the King to spare her people, her people still had to fight for their complete salvation from the decree of destruction that was already written. Thank God many of us don’t have to fight physically, but sure we still do have to “fight” in a way.

Prayers

Important: Every place you see _______, please insert the name of each member of your family. Don’t say us, mention each name.

John‬ ‭3‬:‭16-17‬ ‭AMP‬‬ For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.

Dear God, I want to thank you for loving me, _______ and _____. I admit that even though we love each other so much, we cannot die for one another; but Jesus died for us and now we all can be saved from the consequences of our sins. Lord I pray that _______ and I will always remember that you didn’t come to judge us but save us. Help _______ and I to continually believe in you, love you and never allow ourselves to be overcome by self-condemnation, but complete reliance on the blood of Jesus that has washed away all our sins. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭23‬ ‭AMP For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭AMP‬‬ If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just [true to His own nature and promises], and will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness [our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose]. ‭‭

Dear God, thank you for your overwhelming gift of grace to _______ and I. Lord help us not to ignore or overlook any sin in our lives. Help _______ and I to always see the need to confess every sin and repent of them. Help us to see how faithful you are in forgiving our sin and your desire for us to enjoy your free gift of eternal life in Jesus Name. Amen.

2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭AMP‬‬ Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

Dear Jesus, it is so beautiful to know that when _______ and I believe in you, accepting you as our personal Lord and Saviour, you make us NEW. I pray for me, _______ and all future members of my family that we will let go of our old ways and embrace this new life you are giving us. And when the “old man” come knocking, help us never to open the door to him in Jesus Name. Amen.

Ezekiel‬ ‭11‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬ And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them. I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart, so they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.

Dear God, please give _______ and I an undivided heart. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and help us surrender to His leading and guidance. Give _______ and I a heart that will always obey your degrees and regulations. Lord make _______ and I truly your people and help us to always know you are our God in Jesus Name. Amen.

Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭AMP‬‬ And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation]. ‭‭

Dear Lord, as _______ and I go on in this beautiful life that you have given us, I pray that we never look to other things or people as an alternative for our salvation. You know us best and you have given us the name of Jesus as the ONLY name by which we must be saved. Help _______ and I to always remember this and call upon you for our salvation in Jesus Name. Amen

Finally, like a military personnel assigned with ensuring a missile hits a target, I want you to send a lock-on missile of salvation to every single member of your family such that no matter where they are or go to, they cannot escape been hit with the power of God’s salvation. (Take time to say this prayer for each member of your family.)

Lord Jesus, I lock-on _______ as the target of the missile of your salvation. How, where and when _______ gets hit, you have total control over. In this life, _______ cannot escape it Lord. Let it hit _______ and let _______ have a Paul-like encounter in Jesus Mighty Name I pray. Amen.

Reflection

As you go about today, be thankful to Jesus for the salvation of the souls of you and your family members.

See you tomorrow as we pray again for our family.

Beautiful blessings.

Beautiful Wives Prayer Challenge 2022 (Edition 7.0)

Hello and welcome to this year’s beautiful wife prayer challenge. It is our seventh edition. Wow!!! God has indeed been good to us. Don’t you think so?

This year, while I thought about what would be our theme, I got quite a lot; but I went back to pray about it, telling God I want to only do what He wants and that was when this theme came. “For my people.”

Our key verses would be from the book of Esther. I am sure we all know the story of Esther and how she prayerfully saved her people from destruction at the hand of Haman.

Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, “Go, gather all the Jews that are present in Susa, and observe a fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids also will fast in the same way. Then I will go in to [see] the king [without being summoned], which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish.”

Esther 3:15-16 AMP

Queen Esther replied, “If I have found favor with the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my request, I ask that my life and the lives of my people will be spared.

Esther 7:3 NLT

It hit differently as I read these verses and it stirred up a fire within me to pray for my people. For the purpose of this challenge, this is going to be limited to our immediate family.

Over the seven days starting 5th and ending 11th, I’ll want to encourage you to fast if you can. Not compulsory but recommended.

Please feel free to download the image below to use on your social media and share this with other wives, inviting them to join us.

I hope you join us and pray for your family.

Christ followers and social media

As we go through the second half of 2022, there are a lot of things we must choose to do differently and social media is one of them.

The times that we live in is just wonderful all together. Now we can have people say or write all sorts and post. To them, this gives us the consumer one of two choices – disagree or agree. Then your choice determines their reaction to you. Agree, you are fine. Disagree and they’ll come for you.

The social media space is a free canvas where anyone can sketch and a free writing pad where anyone can write. While this is a medium where many have been blessed, it’s also one where many have become confused and condemned.

I use to unwind sometimes on social media; especially because I get to read posts and even comments. Some posts stirs up strife and debates and some edify. And some are just funny. Social media, in my opinion is just like Google’s search results; and our approach to the content there should not be different from how we go about the google search results.

You go to the ones that will help you and leave the others.

Every Christian believer in obedience to the instruction of Jesus should use every opportunity to reach out in love to others. And how beautiful it is that we have the social media platforms to do this.

However, we have three types of preachers of the gospel on this public space.

  • Those who are driven and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
  • Those who are driven by religion, dogma and denominational doctrines.
  • Those who are driven by themselves.

While I don’t need to elaborate so much on the points above because it’s quite straight forward, let me remind you about the people who were first called Christians in the Bible.

“When he found him, he took him to Antioch, and for a whole year the two met with the people of the church and taught a large group. It was at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians.”

Acts‬ ‭11:26‬ ‭GNT‬‬

Some other versions call it “Christ-followers.”

The Acts of the Apostles shows and tells of who a Christian is. From Barnabas to Stephen to Saul (Paul), we see and can learn how and what we as Christian believers should behave and do.

I encourage you to read the whole book of Acts in the Bible and ask yourself, “Am I a Christ follower or a religious fanatic?

Today, we have so many religious fanatics who haven’t taken time to study the word of God and seek God for themselves. They are simply hearers who repeat what they heard and don’t understand, quote Bible verses that suite their arguments or they give their own meaning to it.

As Christ followers, it is expected that we are salt and not pepper or bones. Salt seasons, pepper spices and bones chokes.

Looking on the brighter side of Social media, while we all know it is a faux reality, we can, to some extent know or distinguish religious fanatics from Christ followers. Scriptures teach us that it is the content of one’s heart that come out from one’s mouth. Or in this case we see it in their posts or comments or reactions.

So what should you do differently in the remaining days of 2022 and beyond?

Be a light, Be salt, Be beautiful and Be Christlike.

Beautiful Blessings.

Fathers like The Father.

Today, all over the world, it is Father’s day.

I won’t call myself a daddy’s girl and I won’t also not call myself a daddy’s girl. Growing up with my sisters, there are so many lessons we can look back on and thank God for daddy.

Even though we are all girls, we did everything a typical home consisting of boys and girls would do. Even though dad would prefer you don’t do some task that are sort of male-inclined, he eventually would be happy when you do them.

Everyone needs a father and if you are reading this today and your father is alive, I hope you gave God thanks and also honoured your father. I know there might be some who are sort of estranged with their dad, it is my prayer that the Prince of Peace brings calm into the stormy relationship in Jesus Name.

If you ask me who is an ideal father, I’ll say the one who imitates God the Father.

7 characteristics of God the Father that should be found in our earthly fathers

  • God is merciful But God, being [so very] rich in mercy, because of His great and wonderful love with which He loved us, even when we were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of our sins, He made us [spiritually] alive together with Christ (for by His grace—His undeserved favor and mercy—you have been saved from God’s judgment). Ephesians 2:4-5 AMP
  • God is kind and compassionateLord, you’re so kind and tenderhearted and so patient with people who fail you! Your love is like a flooding river overflowing its banks with kindness. Psalm 103:8 TPT
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. Psalm 145:8 NLT
  • God is forgivingBut if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 TPT
  • God is goodThe Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works [the entirety of things created]. Psalm 145:9 AMP
  • God is lovingBeloved, let us [unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves [others] is born of God and knows God [through personal experience]. The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.] 1ohn 4:7-8 AMP
  • God is strong and our helperGod is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 AMP
  • God is our shephered and providerThe Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. Psalm 23:1 NLT

On this beautiful day that the Lord has made, with gladness and great joy in my heart, I am wishing ever Father in our community and out there –

Happy Father’s Day.

The Lord bless you, and keep you [protect you, sustain you, and guard you]; The Lord make His face shine upon you [with favor], And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness]; The Lord lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval], And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].’ Numbers 6:24-26

We love you and God bless you.

SAME, DIFFERENT; WHO CARES?

I took a picture of both my son’s legs.

They had exchanged one leg of their slippers.
I looked at both of them, they had wide smiles on their faces.

Wait.

What if I teach you half of everything I know?
Will I still have a smile on my face?
Will I be happy I impacted your life?
Or will I be jealous of your success?

What if I teach you half of everything I know?
Will I still have a smile on my face?
Or would you make me regret the effort I put in,
by “biting the finger that fed you?”

Let’s exchange knowledge and let’s be able to smile about it.
Let me drink from your fountain of knowledge.
Let me eat from your table and not from the crumbs that fall.

“Let us have a world of ordinary people living life the way God wants us to. And if we have a world of ordinary people, extraordinary things will happen to me and you”

~ Cobhams

That which makes us different is what makes this world a beautiful place.
