The POWER in Submission

Submission is a topic that has become very controversial in our present time because of the way it’s been used and applied. Before we even go further let’s know the meaning of Submission.

It is, “the action of accepting or yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another person.”

Submitting to the authority of another person, sometimes even God is a difficult thing to do in all honesty and the interesting thing about it is that we have a choice to or not. Now for this article, we will be seeing it from the biblical angle. While I am not a fan of shouting SUBMISSION! SUBMISSION!! SUBMISSION!!! at the slightest. I am 100% in support of submission.

When I wrote, “If only many knew the POWER in submission!!!” I intentionally didn’t specify whether it was the wife or the husband. But from comments I see many think it’s all about the wife when biblically, it in fact speaks to both parties – Husband and Wife.

Now, when Ephesians chapter 5 is being read on the matter of submission, we just go to verse 22 overlooking all other verses when in fact, all verses build up to the later verses. Today we would not overlook it because, it explains better the verses that follow. Feel free to read up from verse 1 and do well to read it up in other versions for thorough understanding.

Verse 21 speaks on submitting to one another to honor Christ. Then it goes on to breakdown the method of submission to wives first and then husbands.

For wives, this can be seen in verses 22 – 24 which means in summary, wives submit to the leadership of her husband and obey him. For husbands, this can be seen in verses 25 – 31. Husbands submission is in absolutely and completely loving his wife.

Now as the chapter ends, it tells us of how much the marriage union is similar to the relationship Christ shares with his church and then summaries it all and this time around, it addresses the husband first and then the wife. This is in line with the marriage organogram designed by God himself as in Ephesians 5 and 1 Peter 3.

The power that lies within submission can be good and bad but as believers in Christ, we are focusing on the good power.

A man who loves his wife as himself would have it easy as she would easily stay under his leadership, respecting and obeying him in all things. How about the woman? You get the continuous love (in totality) of your husband when you are willing to be under his leadership, respect him, obey him and in no way challenge his position.

Now you see how intertwined, this issue of wives submitting and husbands loving is. This being the reason why we should submit to each other as we would individually submit ourselves to honor the Lord. Wives, when you do not respect, obey and reverence your husband, you dishonor the Lord; so also Husbands, when you do not love your wife, keep her safe, treat her as you would yourself, you dishonor the Lord.

Eve is often quickly blamed for not being submissive and the reason for the fall of man. However, when God spoke about how sin entered the world, he never mentioned whether it was Eve or Adam. By virtue of marriage, they were one, hence the phrase, “by one man” sin entered the world… Yes Eve should have sought Adam’s opinion but have you ever come to think of it that Adam was there and he should have saved his wife. In Marriage, submission is expected of both husband (in love) and wife (to leadership) in order to honor God completely.

I am not going to go into the details of what love and submission brings our way as husbands and wives, as we all know and have experienced the benefits in one way or another. One thing I’ll mention though is that when Wives submit in obedience to their husbands and husbands submit in love to their wives. They exude great power within their marriage and outside.

As I end, I live you with 1 Peter chapter 3 verse 1- 9 but I’ll quote some verses.

For Wives:

In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands [subordinate, not as inferior, but out of respect for the responsibilities entrusted to husbands and their accountability to God, and so partnering with them] so that even if some do not obey the word [of God], they may be won over [to Christ] without discussion by the godly lives of their wives, when they see your modest and respectful behavior [together with your devotion and appreciation—love your husband, encourage him, and enjoy him as a blessing from God]. (1 Peter 3:1-2 AMP)

For Husbands:

In the same way, you husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way [with great gentleness and tact, and with an intelligent regard for the marriage relationship], as with someone physically weaker, since she is a woman. Show her honor and respect as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered or ineffective. (1 Peter 3:7 AMP)

For Both:

Finally, all of you be like-minded [united in spirit], sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted [courteous and compassionate toward each other as members of one household], and humble in spirit; and never return evil for evil or insult for insult [avoid scolding, berating, and any kind of abuse], but on the contrary, give a blessing [pray for one another’s well-being, contentment, and protection]; for you have been called for this very purpose, that you might inherit a blessing [from God that brings well-being, happiness, and protection]. (1 Peter 3:8-9 AMP)

“Great Power lies in submission within the marriage union which seeks to honor God.” ~ Phebe (Reju) Olaniran.

Blessings.

#BWPC – DAY 12

Welcome to the last day of this program. It has been an honor leading you all beautiful wives to pray for yourselves, your husbands and your children. We would be rounding up this Edition with prayers for health and preservation for our children. After which we will declare Isaiah 54 over our homes.

Children interact with others and pick up different illness sometimes. The common cold and flu are amongst the highest number. As parents, we do not like to see our babies ill especially when they are still little and can’t communicate how they feel. While I am not promising you a never falling ill child, I want you to know that praying to God about the health of your child means that anytime they fall ill, they recover and build a stronger immune system. When they innocently eat what would have harmed them, the Lord instead uses it for the nourishment of their bodies.

Then we talk about preservation. Thriving and surviving where it has been known to be hard. I remember a mom of twin babies who should have been evacuated from where she resided during the hurricane Harvey. God came through for her in that while neighbors home got flooded, hers wasn’t and she didn’t have to evacuate to start running around with one month old twins. That is preservation we are talking about.

PRAYER POINTS

Jeremiah 33:6 (GNT) “But I will heal this city and its people and restore them to health. I will show them abundant peace and security.”
Jeremiah 30:17 (TLB) “I will give you back your health again and heal your wounds.”

This was a promise of hope from God to Jeremiah concerning Jerusalem. Now we would be receiving this promise for our children.

  • (Child/ren’s name), the hope I have in God is that when I call upon Him, He hears and answer me. Today, I receive this unlimited promise on your behalf and I declare that you will enjoy health all the days of your life because the Lord has promised it in Jesus name.

2 Chronicles 7:14-16 (TLB) “Then if my people will humble themselves and pray, and search for me, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land. I will listen, wide awake, to every prayer made in this place. For I have chosen this Temple and sanctified it to be my home forever; my eyes and my heart shall always be here.”

  • (Child/ren’s name), you will stay clear of evil and anything that will make God not to listen to you. I dedicate you and sign you off to be the home of the Lord where His presence lives forever. I declare that sickness would have no access to you because by virtue of the presence of God which you carry, sickness cannot cohabit with the presence of God. As your body is the home of God, I decree that every prayer you make out of your mouth will be heard by the Lord in Jesus name.

Exodus 15:26 (TLB) “If you will listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and obey it, and do what is right, then I will not make you suffer the diseases I sent on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord who heals you.”

  • (Child/ren’s name), I decree that you will always obey the lord and do what is right in His sight and by so deliver yourself from diseases and sicknesses. By virtue of your obedience to the laws of the Lord, I declare that every thing that is important for your physical sustenance but will harm you is turned around for your good in relation to your health in Jesus name.

Isaiah 40:8 (TLB) “The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God shall stand forever.”

  • Father, (Child/ren’s name) are products of your spoken word. Therefore, I decree today that even when men are dying and falling like the grass and flower, my children (name) are standing strong to good ripe old ages in perfect health as products of your word in Jesus name.

Matthew 5:18 (CEB)I say to you very seriously that as long as heaven and earth exist, neither the smallest letter nor even the smallest stroke of a pen will be erased from the Law until everything there becomes a reality.”
Matthew 24:35 (CEB) “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will certainly not pass away.”

  • You oh Lord are the preserver of every word, I sign this agreement with you today on behalf of (Child/ren’s name) that every of your word which has been prayed and declared over the lives of my children will be fulfilled. Father, I ask that you dot ever i’s and cross every t’s in fulfillment of your word in Jesus name.

  • Father I refuse and disallow any emergencies of any kind that will cause me sleepless night and make me lose my peace. I decree over every organs, every cells, every veins, every bones that you are maintained daily by the blood of Jesus. Every meal you will eat will be to you the body of Christ and every drink you will take will be to you the blood of Jesus. I bless in advance every meal you will eat. I sanctify in advance every water/liquid you will drink. They shall be used to the nourishment of your bodies in Jesus name.

DECLARATIONS AND CONFESSIONS

From verses in Isaiah 54 (Replace name with your, your spouse and your children.)

2(Name) will enlarge our house; build on additions; spread out our home! For (Name) will soon be bursting at the seams! And our descendants will possess the cities left behind during the exile and rule the nations that took our lands. Fear not; (Name) will no longer live in shame. The shame of our youth and the sorrows of widowhood will be remembered no more, for our Creator will be our “husband.” The Lord Almighty is his name; he is our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, the God of all the earth. For the Lord has called (Name) back from our grief—a young wife abandoned by her husband. For a brief moment You abandoned (Name). But with great compassion You will take (Name) back. In a moment of anger You turned your face a little while; but with everlasting love You will have pity on (Name), says the Lord, your Redeemer. Just as in the time of Noah You swore that You would never again permit the waters of a flood to cover the earth and destroy its life, so now You swear that You will never again pour out your anger on (Name). 10 For the mountains may depart and the hills disappear, but your kindness shall not leave (Name). Your promise of peace for (Name) will never be broken, says the Lord who has mercy upon us. 11 O my afflicted (Name), tempest-tossed and troubled, You will rebuild (Name) on a foundation of sapphires and make the walls of our houses from precious jewels. 12 You will make our towers of sparkling agate and our gates and walls of shining gems. 13 And all our citizens shall be taught by you, and our prosperity shall be great. 14 We will live under a government that is just and fair. Our enemies will stay far away; (Name) will live in peace. Terror shall not come near. 15 If any nation comes to fight us, it will not be sent by you to punish us. Therefore, it will be routed, for You are on our side. 16 You have created the smith who blows the coals beneath the forge and makes the weapons of destruction. And you have created the armies that destroy. 17 But in that coming day, no weapon turned against (Name) shall succeed, and we will have justice against every courtroom lie. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord (Name). This is the blessing You have given (Name), says you oh Lord.

These I have declared in the name of the Father, the name of the Son and the name of the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!

Thank you so much for joining in this challenge.

God bless you all and keep you and yours beautiful always for his glory. Amen.

#BWPC – DAY 11

Welcome to day eleven of the Beautiful Wives Prayer Challenge. Today we would be praying for our children’s success and prosperity.

Every parent’s heart desire is that their children succeed and prosper. As much as we work hard, provide for all their needs and even look forward to leaving an inheritance for them, we do want them to excel in everything they lay their hands on. We want them to be wealthy and have all their needs and more met.

There is something about having the hand of God upon our lives. You succeed at everything you do and everything you do prosper. This is the level we want our children to operate in. This reminds me of Joseph in Genesis chapter 39. Everywhere he was in, there was success, there was a communal blessing and prosperity because of him. Be it in Potiphar’s house or the prison, Joseph was successful.

There is a difference between the success of a child that knows God and don’t. We have prayed for guidance and protection yesterday of which we emphasized on teaching them about God so they have an experiential knowledge of him. Having established that and knowing that this knowledge is the basis, we go on to pray.

PRAYER POINTS

Joshua 1:8 (NCV) “Always remember what is written in the Book of the Teachings. Study it day and night to be sure to obey everything that is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything.”

  • (Child/ren’s name), wherever you are and at whatever stage in life you are on, I decree that you will always remember the teachings of the Lord. I pray for you today that when a task is difficult to many, it will be easy for you because you are wise by the word of God which you study day and night and keep in your heart in Jesus name.

Daniel 3:7-11 (NCV) “Again the wise men said to the king, “Tell us, your servants, the dream, and we will tell you what it means.” King Nebuchadnezzar answered, “I know you are trying to get more time, because you know that I meant what I said. If you don’t tell me my dream, you will be punished… The wise men answered the king, saying, “No one on earth can do what the king asks! No great and powerful king has ever asked the fortune-tellers, magicians, or wise men to do this; the king is asking something that is too hard. Only the gods could tell the king this, but the gods do not live among people.”
Vs. 36 (NCV) “That was your dream. Now we will tell the king what it means.”
Vs 48-49 (NCV) “Then the king gave Daniel many gifts plus an important position in his kingdom. Nebuchadnezzar made him ruler over the whole area of Babylon and put him in charge of all the wise men of Babylon. Daniel asked the king to make Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego leaders over the area of Babylon, so the king did as Daniel asked. Daniel himself became one of the people who stayed at the royal court.”

Now that we’ve first committed to their memory everything they’ve learned of the Lord and is still learning and will continue to learn, let’s secure their seats as wise men/women.

  • Father I decree for (Child/ren’s name) that the wisdom that is only attributed to gods will be their portion. I pray that in whatever situation they find themselves to give an answer, you will reveal to them everything even to the minutest details. Kings will come to their attention to consult them in matters that mere men cannot answer. I pray that by the reason of your wisdom within them, they take powerful positions in their places of work, in their communities and even in the government. I raise them as decision makers to bring about success and prosperity to those they work for or come to them to employ their services in Jesus name.

Psalm 37:4-5 (MSG) “Keep company with GOD, get in on the best. Open up before GOD, keep nothing back; he’ll do whatever needs to be done.”
Philippians 4:13 (NCV) “I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.”

  • (Child/ren’s name) I decree that everyday of your long beautiful life, you will remain in the company of the Lord. All you need to succeed and prosper, you will ask from the Lord and I declare that you oh Lord will give (Child/ren’s name) everything. For days when it looks like you cannot succeed or stay the course of prosperity, I receive for you today in advance the strength of the Lord to continue. I declare that you will never run low in supply of strength to carry out all you have to do in Jesus name.

Deuteronomy 28:13 (GNT) “The Lord your God will make you the leader among the nations and not a follower; you will always prosper and never fail if you obey faithfully all his commands that I am giving you today.”

  • (Child/ren’s name), I decree that you will always obey the instructions of the Lord. Even when it doesn’t seem to be everyone’s cup of tea but that which will move you from low to high, down there to up there; I pray that you will obey. Even when some will question it, I pray that you will obey. And as you obey (child/ren’s name), I declare that you become trusted leaders who will never fail but prosper and be successful all your days in Jesus name.

Deuteronomy 8:18 (MSG) “If you start thinking to yourselves, “I did all this. And all by myself. I’m rich. It’s all mine!”—well, think again. Remember that GOD, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth so as to confirm the covenant that he promised to your ancestors—as it is today.”

  • I pray for you today, (Child/ren’s name) that when you are wealthy and successful, you will not forget God. I pray you will not think you have arrived and create for yourself idols of men. I pray that you will remain relevant to God. I pray that you will not outlive God’s wisdom. I pray you will not outlive God’s help. I pray you will not outlive God’s instructions. I pray for you dear (child/ren’s name), you will remain within the schooling of your maker. I am aware that success and wealth can intoxicate but today, I receive for you a humble heart that will always remember that “God gave me strength and most of all wisdom to become successful and rich.” This I pray for you (Child/ren’s name) in Jesus name.

Lastly, Proverbs 16:3 (GNT) “Ask the Lord to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out.”

  • Dear Father, I ask today on behalf of (Child/ren’s name) that you will always bless their plans and make them successful in every one of the. Let it be known today that I have asked in advance for every of their plans. So even when they forget to, I give you permission to bless it and prosper it because I have asked today on their behalf in Jesus name.

DECLARATIONS AND CONFESSIONS

  • I declare that you are a carrier of the presence of God. Wherever you go to and whoever comes in contact with you will experience the blessings of the presence of God that you carry.
  • Like Joseph, I declare that those you would work for or who will work for you will attest to the success and prosperity that your presence have brought.
  • I declare that you will not be in short supply of the wisdom that are attributed to gods to give whenever you are called upon as regards anything.

All these I have declared in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!

Read Genesis 39:2-6,23 and declare over your children as you are led.

Thank you for joining in today. See you tomorrow for the last day of the program where we pray for our children’s health and preservation.

God bless you.

#BWPC – DAY 10

I welcome you all to day ten. A big thank you for staying with us till now.

Today we are going all out for our children. We are praying for guidance and protection for our children. Aside the first few years which we spend with our children or few months for some before they begin creche or playgroup, most of the other times, they are with some one caring for them. These carers can either be our family members or total strangers. Now most time we think its only when they are with strangers that we pray for them. No. Even when they are with us, we must pray for their protection too.

How about guidance? Our children will not be with us forever, they’ll go to school, they’ll go to college or university. They’ll go to visit fiends and families. At this time, you aren’t there to guide them. Many times, its what you have taught them or the path you have set them on that become a guide to them.

PRAYER POINTS

Proverbs 22:6 (TLB) Teach a child to choose the right path, and when he is older, he will remain upon it.

Many parents have unknowingly not given their children enough to make them choose the right path. Instead what many have succeeded in doing is having these children pretend to choose the right path and then once they are out of sight or of age, they forsake and go their own way. We would be asking for mercy for where we have missed it and also grace to do it right.

  • Father, where it is that I have not taught my children to choose the right way but have forcefully coerced them and they have done it just to please me or make me happy, I ask that you forgive me. I acknowledge my wrong and I ask for grace to correct it in Jesus name.
  • Father, I ask that you teach me how to teach my children to choose the right part. Every over confident spirit that wants to make me think I know it all, I put them under the authority of the word and I pray that I will be teachable enough to teach the children you have given me to choose the part of life that is true and right so that Lord, when they are away from home and by themselves, they will remain on track with you in Jesus name.

1 Peter 5:2 (ERV) I beg you to take care of the group of people you are responsible for. They are God’s flock. Watch over that flock because you want to, not because you are forced to do it. That is how God wants it. Do it because you are happy to serve, not because you want money. Don’t be like a ruler over those you are responsible for. But be good examples to them.

The children the Lord has given to us can be likened to His flock which he has given us to take care of. In some culture, you’re expected to teach your child in an authoritative, dictatorship style but many a times this method has not worked. Children learn from what they see. Its difficult to play the ‘do as i say, don’t do as i do‘ game with them. So we parents must learn to live what we teach our children. They are watching our every action as well as learning. And remember, what they learn will go on to guide them.

  • Father, I ask that you help me understand that teaching by example is the best way I can teach my children of you. When I live Christlike, its easy for my children to want to live so. Lord help me to model you to my children by the way I live, talk, interact and even more study your word. Let my love for you be so real that my children will want to love you even better. When I am with them or not, let the remembrance of my example be in their hearts to guide them in Jesus name.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 (TLB) And you must think constantly about these commandments I am giving you today. You must teach them to your children and talk about them when you are at home or out for a walk; at bedtime and the first thing in the morning. Tie them on your finger, wear them on your forehead, and write them on the doorposts of your house!

Very early in life, we must begin to teach our children about Christ. From simple “thank you Lord for waking me up” in the morning to simple, “thank you Jesus for a day well spent” in the evening before bed. Teach them to bless their meal and to bless their going out and coming in. From working with my children, practice is a way of life. It doesn’t have to be perfect at once, but with practice they get there. So also in guiding them, we practice the presence of God with them everyday by teaching them and talking to them about Christ.

  • Father, I ask that you will help me to teach my children about you in their basic everyday activities. When they are all by themselves, I pray that there will be a constant re-echo of all that I have taught them of you in Jesus name.

Lastly, Genesis 28:15 (NLT) What’s more, I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go. One day I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.”

The experiential knowledge of God not only guides us but leaves us in the constant protection of the Lord.

  • Father, I hand over (Child/ren’s name) to you to protect wherever they go. All that you have promised them, I pray that you give them in full. I declare by reason of the word of God that the angels of God remain on guard till you are done with them. Even when they have to move from place to place to get all that is theirs, I decree that that no harm whatsoever come to them in Jesus Name.

DECLARATION AND CONFESSIONS

  • I declare that Lord, you will protect (Child/ren’s name) from the anger of their enemies when they are surrounded by trouble. I declare that you reach out your hand and save (Child/ren’s name) by the power of your right hand. (Psalm 138:7)
  • I declare that when you (Child/ren’s name) go to God for safety, you are protected by the Almighty.
  • I declare that you (Child/ren’s name) are saved from hidden traps and under the wings of the Lord you will hide continually.

All these I have declared in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!

Thanks for joining in. Tomorrow, we pray for their success and prosperity.

See you then. God bless you.

#BWPC – DAY 9

Welcome to day day nine of Beautiful Wives Prayer Challenge.

We spent the first four days praying for ourselves, the last four days for our husbands and today, we will be praying for our homes and our children. The next three days are for our children specifically.

The theme for today is “Thanksgiving and Dedication.”

We would be thanking God for our homes and the children He has blessed our homes with. We will also be dedicating our home and our children to the Lord as well. There is power in giving thanks and that I have come to know and experience. Sometimes, just being thankful for all I have keeps my heart busy with joy that I am not even aware of the things I don’t have that God is fixing on my behalf.

Of recent, I got wind of something that was happening within my home and I just thank God for mercy that he showed us all the while this was going on without me having any knowledge about it. Upon my discovery, I have not ceased to dedicate my home every day and every member of my family. Leaving your family in the utmost care of God and allowing God do his bidding with them per time will take a lot of burden off you as you can trust God to never fail you like man would.

PRAYER POINTS

James 1:17 (NCV) “Every good action and every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Creator of the sun, moon, and stars, who does not change like their shifting shadows.”

This was the verse the Lord gave us when we had our first child and this has become a verse that is homely to us as a family. It reminds us of the fact that our home, our children and each other is a gift from God. How do you see your home – husband and children? Are they gifts from God or nothing special?

Isaiah 54:13 (NCV) “All your children will be taught by the LORD, and they will have much peace.”

The most peaceful thing any parent can have is knowing that their children know the Lord for themselves.

Joshua 24:11 (NCV) “But if you don’t want to serve the LORD, you must choose for yourselves today whom you will serve. You may serve the gods that your ancestors worshiped when they lived on the other side of the Euphrates River, or you may serve the gods of the Amorites who lived in this land. As for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.””

Oh how beautiful to have your home is constantly accommodating the Holy Spirit. Everyone connected to the Trinity always and being guided by God is the best feeling we should all desire.

  • Today you are not restricted by points. You have a blank cheque. Look within and thank God for everything and also pray about what you desire for your home and your children. Pray as led. No restrictions. No limits.

DECLARATIONS AND CONFESSIONS

  • Lord I confess my indifference many a times to the blessing of a beautiful home filled with love and peace. I confess that some times, I concentrate on what I do not have than look within to see the great things you have blessed me with, wrapped in human forms.
  • I declare that from today, we will lead a grateful life everyday knowing that everything God creates is good and should be received with thanksgiving because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

These I have confessed and declared in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!

Thanks for joining in today. See you tomorrow when we pray about protection and guidance for our children.

God bless you beautiful.

#BWPC – DAY 8

Welcome to day eight of this program. How has it been for you? I trust very well. Today is the last day for praying for our husbands and the theme for our prayers would be Sacrifices and Prosperity.

To enjoy wealth and prosperity, there are some sacrifices that our husbands would have to make. They’ll sometimes have to sacrifice sleep, comfort, enjoyment all in a bid to work harder and provide for us and our children and even meet some needs of the extended family members.

Our husband’s sacrifices need to yield great results and most importantly we want them to prosper and be wealthy all round. So, our prayers today will be about receiving results for all their sacrifices to give us and our children a beautiful life, where we can have all our needs met and even out wants. We will also be praying that the sacrifices they need to make to prosper, they will not overlook them.

PRAYER POINTS

  • Father, I have come to thank you for the past three days I have spent praying for my husband. I thank you in advance for every answer to each prayer request raised. I have come once again and I pray that your mercy will overshadow all my imperfections and that of my husband and you will hear us from heaven in Jesus name.

Hebrews 13:16 (ERV) “And don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with others, because sacrifices like these are very pleasing to God.”

There are times our husbands would encounter an opportunity to do good or even share something they have which is so dear to them with someone. Now the reward for such sacrifices may even come from the receiver of such good or from someone entirely different. This reminds me of the story of a man who was looking for a job and while driving around, he came upon a luxurious SUV which needed a little push to get off road to a near by bus stop. This man pulled over and asked if he could help and off course they needed the help so he towed them to the nearest bus stop. The men exchanged numbers and one day out of nowhere the man who helped was called and asked what he did, and after the discussion, he got a juicy job. Now this is sacrifice that brings result.

  • Father, for the times when a little sacrifice is needed from my husband to allow for greater and bigger things, I pray that he will not be blinded as to hold on to what he should rather share or give but open his eyes to see clearly so that these opportunities do not pass him by in Jesus name.

Hebrews 6:10 (TLB) “For God is not unfair. How can he forget your hard work for him, or forget the way you used to show your love for him—and still do—by helping his children?”

I remember when I was to urgently deliver some designs for presentation purposes. Usually, a commitment fee is required before work even starts. Due to the urgency, I went straight to work so that I could deliver in time for the purpose which it was intended for. While I did this, I never knew two other consultants (bigger than me) were contacted. At the end of it all, I delivered the job in time for the presentation and when the winner was to be chosen, I automatically was and I was compensated. Others missed out on this opportunity because they couldn’t sacrifice time without a commitment fee. Why did I share this story? Sometimes our husbands would have to sacrifice some rules to get results.

  • (Husband’s name), when the time comes for you to make exceptional sacrifices, I pray that you will choose to be flexible and not miss out due to your rigidity. I pray that you will be available to make prompt sacrifices that will yield great results. Every protocol made by man can be broken and I pray for you today that you will know when to break these protocols to make way for our prosperity in Jesus name.

Proverbs 6:6-11 (MSG)You lazy fool, look at an ant. Watch it closely; let it teach you a thing or two. Nobody has to tell it what to do. All summer it stores up food; at harvest it stockpiles provisions. So how long are you going to laze around doing nothing? How long before you get out of bed? A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there, sit back, take it easy—do you know what comes next? Just this: You can look forward to a dirt-poor life, poverty your permanent houseguest!

There are many women who have taken role as bread winner of their homes due to one reason or the other. Some of the husbands in this homes, have eventually gotten back on their feet and taken back position as bread winner. On the other hand, some other husbands have chosen to become lazy and leave the burden on their wives. Today we would be praying using these verses as references. If your husband is not in this category, you can still pray for him or you pray for others.

  • (Husband’s name), I pray for you today that you will not make friend with laziness. I pray that when things seem not to go the way you desire or have marked out that you will not be overtaken with the willingness to give up. You will pick yourself up, get back to work and prosper in Jesus name.
  • Husband’s name), I pray for you today that when you have sacrificed so much and there is a delay in the results that you will not consider giving up as an option. I pray that you will not see unfaithfulness as an alternative but you will encourage yourself and push yourself even unsupervised. I pray that your hard work would pay off and keep poverty far from our home in Jesus name.

Zachariah 4:10 (TLB) “Do not despise this small beginning, for the eyes of the Lord rejoice to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.”

For those of you who believe that there is more your husband can give to get more and that this is not his best; we will be replacing Zerubbabel with our husband’s name. If you think you have gotten to your best place, please still pray and replace Zerubbabel with my husband’s name.

  • (Husband’s name), you will not despise your small beginnings instead you will delight in them. You will not be ashamed of them but be proud of them. Even when people laugh at you and wonder what will come of you, you will still be proud of them and Father Lord, you will give them reasons to change their tunes when they see how prosperous, how rich and how wealthy (Husband’s name) have become in Jesus name.

DECLARATIONS AND CONFESSIONS

  • I declare that (husband’s name), you are not giving up. Even though it looks like everything is falling apart for us on the outside, God is making a new life for us by his unfolding grace.
  • I declare that these sacrifices you are making are small potatoes compared to the good days that are waiting to unfold. There is far more than meets the eyes because these sacrifices are only paving ways for greater prosperity in Jesus name. Amen!!!

Thanks for joining in today. Tomorrow and the next three day, we pray for our children and our home.

Please share and share.

God bless you.

#BWPC – DAY 7

Welcome to day seven. Today we would praying for our husbands to heed instructions that would stir them in the right direction and put them on the right path.

There is something called “Ego” that seems to be a man’s companion. Men tend to always believe they are in the place of authority so every of their decisions are always right, more so they are married. Instructions that would lead our husbands to the good paths of life that God has laid down, can come in any form. It can come from God directly through his word, dreams, visions, his voice, our instinct, our conscience and it can also come through people – much more through you his wife.

Do you know how much good we would enjoy if our husbands listen to instructions that guide them positively? Do you know how many things we would overcome if instructions are heeded to? Without dwelling so much on “what ifs”, we would speak to his maker and master teacher about this.

PRAYER POINTS

  • Father, I am thankful for ever listening and ever working in me and mine all things that will bring about your good will and plan for our lives to reality. I thank you for once again being ready to carry all the weights I have brought to you tonight. Help me Lord to listen as much as I do the talking during this challenge. Help me to be guided as well by your instructions in whatever form they come in Jesus name.

Jeremiah 32:33 (ERV) “They should have come to me for help, but they turned their backs to me. I tried to teach them again and again, but they would not listen to me. I tried to correct them, but they would not listen.”

In the preceding verses, God was angry with Jerusalem because she had chosen to sacrifice to other gods and do things to anger the Lord. God was grieved that he allowed them to be captured by the Babylonian army. Acknowledging God as our helper is one thing. Listening to his instructions as he teaches is another thing. We want our husbands to by default always first ask God for help and much more listen to the instructions he give.

  • (Husband’s name), you will not be like Jerusalem, who made her maker angry, you will always ask help from the Lord. Even when all things looks as though you should just give up and find help elsewhere, I pray that it would be at the feet of the Lord that you run to for help. I pray that much more than asking for help, your ears, heart and mind would be open to hear, listen and obey instructions that He will give you in Jesus name.

Jeremiah 33:2,3 (NLT)  “This is what the Lord says—the Lord who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is the LordAsk me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”

  • Father, I ask you on behalf of (husband’s name) today, that all of the remarkable secrets my husband need to know about things to come for today and in the future is revealed to him. I decree that by virtue of my request today, my husband get to know all these secrets even when he doesn’t remember to ask in Jesus name.

John 2:5-7 (NCV)His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you to do.” In that place there were six stone water jars that the Jews used in their washing ceremony. Each jar held about twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled the jars to the top.”

Now, if there was any reason to question the mental state of Jesus, the servers at the wedding in Cana of Galilee didn’t have to as Mary – the mother of Jesus – had already told them, “Do whatever he tells you to do.” Many of God’s instructions would cause or husbands to question most of the times, but like Mary, we will sometimes need to tell our husbands, “Do whatever he tells you to do.”

  • (Husband’s name), I pray for you today that when you are in doubt about the instruction from the Lord that you will be encouraged by me when I say, “Do whatever He tells you to do.” I declare today that even when I am not there, you will hear my voice as I encourage you to do as the Lord instructs in Jesus name. I decree that the comfort of my words would silence every doubt within you in Jesus name.

1 John 4:11 (TLB) “Dearly loved friends, don’t always believe everything you hear just because someone says it is a message from God: test it first to see if it really is. For there are many false teachers around”

In the times that we live in now, there are a lot of “GOD SAIDS” around the place. While some are indeed from the Lord and only lead to great and mighty things, there are those that aren’t and have led many in captivity, shame and problems. Our husbands must be able to differentiate these instructions. They must be able to tell the true ones from the false ones so as to keep us from trouble.

  • Today, I receive for you (husband’s name) a discerning spirit to know which instructions that come are from the lord and not. I pray that when these instructions come and they are so tempting that you will always check with the Lord first, – through his word and through prayers – before heeding. You will not be pressured to heed instructions that are not from the Lord and get us all entrapped in Jesus name.

Finally, Proverbs 15:5 (ESV)A fool despises his father’s instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is prudent.”

There are times when our husband may not do as the Lord instructs and man times, there are always corrections that come. Some of these corrections can be so hard. Our husbands would need to understand this and be ready to be corrected when they disobey God’s instruction and not see it as a time to abandon God.

  • (Husband’s name), I know how humanly you are and I pray that when corrections come as a result of your disobedience to instruction, that you will not see it as God being too hard on you and abandon him but you will take correction, learn from them and never do it again. I put under the authority of Christ every spirit of pride that would want you to question the correction of the Lord and I declare that you be filled with a contrite spirit to know that, he who the Lord loves, he corrects in Jesus name.

DECLARATIONS AND CONFESSIONS

  • (Husband’s name), I declare that you will listen to instruction and prosper. You will trust the Lord and be joyful all your days. You will be known for your understanding and be called wise. Your words will be pleasant and compelling to those who hear them. (Proverbs 16:20-21)
  • I declare that you (husband’s name) will be instructed on the right path that would bring life into everything you come in contact with and the path which leads to death but looks right on the outside will be clear for you to see to avoid. (Proverbs 16:25)

All these I have declared in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!

God bless you and see you tomorrow for day eight when we pray regarding Sacrifice and Prosperity for our husbands.

#BWPC – DAY 6

Welcome to day six of the Beautiful Wives Prayer Challenge. We are already half way through this prayer program and I thank you all for joining in. Today we would be praying for protection for our husbands.

I remember the first time my husband was going to leave home for work few weeks after our wedding. I had so many thoughts and I found myself just praying to the Lord to protect him. This has continued ever since. Consciously and unconsciously, I always hand over my husband to God for safe keeping and I always tell him, I want him back in one piece and even better than he left me; whether he goes far from home or near home.

Every wife wants her husband to return home safe and sound, to be delivered from wicked people and plans, and to be generally protected from every form of evil. But we must understand that the protection of the Lord comes in various forms. Sometimes, opening our eyes to see evil lurking, sometimes its just peace as regards a situation, it could also be allowing people disappoint us and many other forms. God’s ways and mode of doing His things are far beyond our understanding most times but He is working all for our good. So today we would be praying for our husbands based on the promises of God for our protection.

PRAYER POINTS.

  • Father, I am here to thank you for all you have done for me and mine from day one of this program. I thank you for day six and the remaining days, because every prayer raised up to heaven do not return void of answers. As I lift my voice today, I ask that you hear from heaven in Jesus name.

Genesis 35:5,6 (ERV)  “Then Jacob and his sons left that place. The people in the surrounding cities wanted to follow and kill them, but God filled them with such great fear that they did not go after them. So Jacob and his people went to Luz, which is now called Bethel. It is in the land of Canaan.”

Like I mentioned earlier, there are different ways in which our husbands will enjoy the protection of God. Look here, God’s way of protecting Jacob and his family was by putting fear in the hearts of those who would harm them.

  • You’ll say, Father, all those who seek to harm (husband’s name) in any form, let them be overtaken with so much fear. Fear that cripples Lord I release upon them. Be it those in the family, workplace, neighborhood or anywhere at all. When they look on you (husband’s name), they run from you because they fear you. Wherever you step into and they have purposed in their heart to you you harm, I pray that as you step in, they are overcome with crippling fear in Jesus name.

1 Samuel 25:15,16 (NCV)These men were very good to us. They did not harm us. They stole nothing from us during all the time we were out in the field with them. Night and day they protected us. They were like a wall around us while we were with them caring for the sheep.”

There are going to be times in our lives, that we would need men to protect us whether we ask them or they do it voluntarily. Funny enough, they don’t need to know us to become protectors over us. We would be raising these angel protectors in human form for our husbands.

  • Dear Lord I receive Protectors for (husband’s name) in his place of work, in a strange land, wherever in this world that he finds himself away from home. I decree than an army of protector rise on his behalf. When he need them, when he doesn’t them, when he doesn’t know that he need them. I pray today that you (husband’s name), will never lack protectors 24 hours of the 7 days of the week in Jesus name.

2 Chronicles 14:11,12 (NCV)Asa called out to the Lord his God, saying, “Lord, only you can help weak people against the strong. Help us, Lord our God, because we depend on you. We fight against this enormous army in your name. Lord, you are our God. Don’t let anyone win against you.” So the Lord defeated the Cushites when Asa’s army from Judah attacked them, and the Cushites ran away.”

Sometimes, some people would just rise up against our husbands to destroy them. Sometimes, we may have inklings to prepare in prayer and sometimes, we may not. Today we would be arming the missiles of protection and locking them on our husbands. This way, wherever they meet this type of army of wickedness, he is hit by the protection of the Lord.

  • Lord, I arm the missiles of your protection and lock it on (husband’s name), I decree that when armies – small or large – rise against him, he is hit by your protection. Today I make this prayer in advance on your behalf because nothing restrains the Lord from saving you. You (husband’s name) are His target of protection all the days of your life in Jesus name.

Still on asking the lord for protection.

  • Lord, for every time, (husband’s name) calls on you for protection, I give you permission to hearken unto him speedily. Even when he doesn’t merit it, I ask that by reason of my prayers today, he merits it in Jesus name.

Romans 8:37-39 (NCV)But in all these things we are completely victorious through God who showed his love for us. Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The love of Christ availed us unlimited protection and it is with that confidence we can say that nothing can separate us from this love which invariably means that NOTHING can separate our husbands from the protection of the Lord which is theirs through the Love of Christ for them.

  • Lord, I thank you for your love that reached down to my husband even when he did not merit it. Thank you for your love that brought with it protection. It is with this confidence, I thank you because NOTHING would ever separate him from your protection. It is with this confidence Lord that I go to sleep knowing fully well that His life is preserved, his career is preserved, our marriage is preserved, our children are preserved and everything connected to us is preserved in Jesus name.

DECLARATIONS AND CONFESSIONS.

I declare that the Lord is your rock and you will always run to Him for safety. He is your shield and your saving strength, your defender and your place of safety. The Lord saves you from those who want to harm you. You will call on the Lord who is worthy of praise and he will save you from your enemies. (2 Samuel 22:3-4 NCV)

This I have declared in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!

Thank you for joining in today. See you tomorrow. God bless you.
